1. tribe called quest - "people's instinctive travels & paths of rhythm(the word play and sample sources were very inspiring)

2. gang starr "full clip" (cal tjader sample the most sickest thing primo's ever done)

3. pete rock and cl smooth - "mecca the soul brother" (made pete rock a production legend)

4. masters at work presents nuyorican soul - "nuyorican soul" (probably my fav production team not entirely appreciated but was the most incredible achievement for modern black music at major label level in the last decade)

5. kerri chandler - "rain" - (awesome deep house soulful groove)

6. brand nubian - "all for one" (that scratchy sample was heavenly - lp was incredible also)

7. meshelle odege nchello - "diggin you (like an old soul record)" (this was so ignored by the mainstream, why do people bother making good records)

8. nirvana - "smells like teen spirit" - (i got turned onto this by mtv, crazy shit, energetic and funky)

9. mobb deep - "shook ones part 2" (awesome quincy jones break)

10. de la soul - "stakes is high" (original) - (and the remixes even were classics dj spinna and jay dee did f*cking awesome mixes, very unusual for three versions of the same record to be so off the hook)
