dj debbie - "current ten" (in no order)

likely to be playing on my outernational vibes show on www.gaialive.com alt sats between 4-6pm i dj at various places – when asked!

various  - “roots of dub funk vol 4” [tanty records] - rise of the eclectic dread : easily dub funk association’s best compilation yet. awesome array of globally sourced dubs in liquid production, scary, adventurous and yet reassuringly familiar.

the mighty zulu nation (in coalition with aki nawaz) - “abantu” [nation record] - breathtaking south african harmonies, sensitive in-mixing of asian vibes, aki fun<da>mental regains pleasure in production and knows when to hold back and when to swathe.

various - “cyprus thing” [olive tree music] - the real voice of ‘napa and surrounds. haji mike the vraggamuffin and associates are working hard to create true cyprus music industry infrastructure and chances for  young vibes creators in an ace range of cypriot and club fusions

zion train – “original sounds of the zion – remixed” [universal egg] - sometimes you can guild the lily. differently paced, delicious new emphases and great to see zt’s own molara taking a hand. others include tgu (uk), unity sound (usa)  and twilight circus (holland).

azzddine with bill laswell – “massafat” [barbarity] - somehow blind moroccan oud player azzddine’s live gig cassette reached patrick jabbar who couldn’t resist it’s eerie and rich resonance. laswell is on heavyweight bass duty rather than production and it’s magic.

various  - “urban latino” compiled by dj lubi ‘slavoloco’ jovanovic [nascente records] - really fresh mix where raw hiphop meets salsa and emerges shaken and stirred. thanks to future world funk for my promo. can’t stop playin’ it!

various - “nu latin” [manteca] - this time it’s gerry lyseight’s turn with an eclectic and steaming global-club-styled latin selection. snowboy, alex wilson, eat static, ska cubano, sidestepper, ronni size, rsl, salsa celtica - why it’s a uk tko!
