a french immigrant who developed a strong taste for house music in the early 90s...moved to the capital to experience the atmosphere of the parisian dancefloors and quickly embraced the sounds played by people like dj gregory, dj deep, eric rug and shazz... a few clubs nights and a weekly radio show quickly followed the move.

an old' smoke resident since 1998, he has worked for a little while with the vinyl junkies records store to help to promote deep underground music.

still hoping to bring his personal musical aspirations to life, possibly in the new year with the re-launch of his label and the release of some new music

ahmad miller – “ahmad's first ep” [stones throw 2003] - mad lib, joe mcduphrey and crew bring some off kilter millenial jazz fusion type shit as only they can!

eddie harris and les mccann - “shorty rides again” [atlantic 1971] - the definition of funky jazz  from two of its all time heavyweights…an unstoppable dancefloor number.

the five corners quintet – “blueprint” [rikki tik 2003] - proper jazz from nuspirit helsinki producer tuomas and five finnish jazz big boys including eero koivistoinen!

michel le grand and co – “la pasionara” [gryphon 1978] - it's that "loud minority" sample in all its glory as monsieur le grand is joined by just about everyone for a frantic jazz workout.

sandboy  - “the hike” [hinterland 2003] - first release from a very promising label. sounding like the cinematic orchestra meets jill scott...mmmmmmm.

the albert mangelsdorf quintet  - “now jazz ramwong” [amiga 1964] - powerful, deep and heavy military sounding eastern european jazz from the sixties that sends shivers every time!

sleepwalker – “ai-no-kawa” [especial 2003] - hadjime yoshizawa and the crew get into the real swinging jazz thing on okino san's excellent label. check the lp too!

lee morgan - “sweet honey bee” [blue note 1966] - lesser known than "the sidewinder" but quite a deft and subtle little number from one of blue notes all time greats.

alison crockett – “like rain” [wah wah 45's 2003] - flip side to the next single from one of the  reatest 7-inch labels in the world(?!). lush strings, alison's deeply jazzy vocals have lead to  comparisons to 4-hero...which are very much appreciated.

sahib shihab & the danish radio jazz group – “mai ding” [oktav 1965] - rare as hen's knackers jazz, and taken from possibly one of the greatest, and deepest, jazz lps ever made. need i say more?

hailing from new york city, adam cruz got his musical roots from his neighborhood, from latin to hip hop to freestyle to disco.

djs at: "red" and "andalu" alongside 95 north and moncef belyamani in washington, dc and baltimore, also "filter 14", "bang the party", alongside yellorange and e-man, respectively, in nyc.  he has played internationally at "notting hill arts club", "the elbow room", and "soshomatch" in london.
